Growing up is funny. One day you’re all like yasss bitch, drinks after work.
And the next day you’re like hmmm… I can’t decide between Egg Shell or Angel’s Kiss for the color of my cabinets.
I’ve never actually been one who was too obsessed with home interiors… until buying my own home.
Lolz… well, until Suga Daddy bought a home. Love you cookie boo boo.
My college roomate and I thought things like Mike’s Hard Lemonade and cheap $5 champagne was much more important than investing in some smancy home interior setup that would no-doubt get destroyed when we stumbled in the door from Thursday night dollar beers at Howl at the Moon.
I mean, my mattress was on the floor and someone carved SLUTS into the wooden bar top in the kitchen and I’m not entirely sure it wasn’t me in the midst of an all night binger.
Hashtag classy AF.
Now that I own a home, and y’know don’t habitually indulge in weeknight alcohol blackouts, I can understand the desire to fill my home with pretty things.
I’m learning how much fun it can be to creatively express yourself through your home and interiors. There’s something refreshing about having your house decorated as if you are pro at adulting and have your shit together.
We’ve been in our current house just over a year now. Around Christmas time, I got a little adventurous and decided to whitewash our brick fireplace.
And right after Christmas, Evan and some amazing family helped us pull up carpet in our living room and kitchen and replace it with hardwood floor.
A couple months ago, we replaced our living room furniture with a new sectional and oh shit things are coming together quite nicely.
We’ve started turning this house into our home, putting our personal touches to it… as well as dog hair and some slobber too.
A couple more pieces and I think my house will be complete.
As you can see, I tend to gravitate towards pieces that are country/shabby/French/antique/vintage chic.
Basically, I have no clue what I’m talking about but these are the things I’m crushing on majorly right now.
Some of my major favs are the pink bedding set that as soon as my dogs kick the bucket, I’ll be able to pull off. We are those people. Y’know… the ones who allow our dogs to sleep with us. And therefore go through more bedding sets than what are actually normal.
Those bistro chairs make me long for gardening skills that I do not possess. Pair them with an adorable bistro table and a flower garden and I know where I’ll be every morning whilst I drink my morning coffee.
The vintage rug is making me weak in the knees. And that Pom Pom basket… 300% sure my dogs would chew the Pom Poms off but whatevs, it cute.
Hope you enjoyed. Thanks for reading.
